Amazon just announced Prime Big Deal Days dates

Here’s what to know about Amazon’s fall Prime Day event

Prime Day already passed this year, but that doesn’t mean Amazon is finished with big, member-only sales. Prime Big Deal Days, the fall event sometimes called “October Prime Day,” is returning this year for another round of deals geared toward holiday gifts, fall purchases and everyday essentials.

This year, Prime Big Deal Days will take place on Oct. 6-7 — close to the same time it’s happened for the last few years. Mark your calendar for those dates (but keep an eye out for early deals that will start popping up in the days leading up to the sale).

Past Prime Big Deal Days have included millions of discounts across electronics, toys, home and kitchen, beauty, fashion, household essentials and Amazon devices. If you want access to all of this year’s deals, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Prime Big Deal Days event?

Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s fall version of its summer Prime Day event. It’s a huge, sitewide sale built around exclusive deals for Amazon Prime members. Discounts span dozens of categories, and since Prime Big Deal Days is in the fall, it arrives right as holiday shopping starts to gear up.

Amazon introduced a second Prime Day-style sale in 2022 under the name Prime Early Access Sale. In 2023, the company renamed the fall event Prime Big Deal Days, and it’s returned every October since then.

Prime Big Deal Days is primarily a Prime member event. Non-members can still shop Amazon during those dates (and may even find regular discounts), but Prime membership is required to access Prime-exclusive discounts related to the event.

When is Prime Big Deal Days?

This year, Prime Big Deal Days will take place on Oct. 6 and 7.

In previous years, Prime Big Deal Days has lasted two days. The original Prime Early Access Sale in 2022 lasted 48 hours, followed by Prime Big Deal Days on Oct. 10-11, 2023, Oct. 8-9, 2024 and Oct. 7-8, 2025.

This is a bit of a departure from Amazon Prime Days, which has expanded over time, and now lasts four days over the summer. However, similar to Prime Days, you won’t need to wait until Oct. 6 to shop Prime Big Deal Days discounts. Early deals are already rolling out ahead of the sale.

How to become an Amazon Prime member

A standard Amazon Prime membership currently costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year in the U.S. Paying annually works out to about $11.58 per month and saves $40.88 over paying the monthly rate for a full year.

Eligible new members can start with a 30-day free trial, and discounts are available for young adults and students.

You’ll need an Amazon account and payment method to enroll, and the membership automatically converts to a paid plan after the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
